Barcroft First Floor Addition
We expanded the main level of this 1947 colonial in the Barcroft neighborhood of Arlington with a first floor addition at the rear of the house. The new addition made room for an open and expanded kitchen, a new dining room, and a great room with vaulted ceilings. The new covered rear entrance off the driveway opens to a new mud room and powder room. The kitchen and great room are separated by partial brick walls from the original house with an exposed steel beam.
The updated kitchen has a large island, new maple shaker cabinets, silestone countertops, and stainless steel appliances with a BlueStar vermilion range. A glass and stone mosaic backsplash was installed behind the range and white subway tile backsplash was installed behind the bar sink.
The two new covered porches have synthetic decking and cable railings and we installed new Pella windows, Hardie Plank siding, brick veneer, and roofing on the exterior.
